Definitions And FYI

This section lists definitions for some of the funky descriptive words seen in other posts, as well as general FYI things I've figure out in-world.

Definitions:

EMPTY - Pretty much every time I've ever been to this location it is empty. And by that I mean, there's noone around. Gather up a group of friends and you've got yourself an exclusive getaway.

UNPOPULAR - Pretty much every time I've ever been to this location there's 3 or less people milling about. If you're looking to avoid lag, head here.

P.S. If I've mistakenly marked any place any of these terms, and am wrong, please let me know. I try to keep them all straight. *gurgle*

FYI:

Simulator Downtime - Unfortunately, each island / area in Second Life is pinned to a software instance and CPU within their infrastructure. While the overall grid is very stable, Your Milage May Vary when it comes to individual areas. When one is unavailable, just try it later.

Simulator Slowdown - Another unfortunately, I've been lucky enough(ha! not really) to discover a few different ways to slow down or potentially crash a simulator.

DONT DO THESE:

- One is to futz with the "custom" graphics settings in any popular area.
- Another is to pan the point-of-view camera more than necessary.

I'll keep adding to the above as time goes on. Since these probably won't be fixed anytime soon...at least there's a list. :)
